How to get into the public test kingdom

The New World Public Test Area (PTR) has recently been announced. To access the test kingdom, simply find the title "New World Public Test Realm" in your Steam library and install it. From there you will access the PTR.

Void Gauntlet and all abilities

PTR introduced a new weapon, the Void Gauntlet. New Magic Weapon consumes mana when used and scales mostly from Intelligence and secondarily from Focus. The Void Gauntlet's abilities consist of two trees called Annihilation and Decay.

You can see all the Void Gauntlet abilities by switching to the PTR preview page (using the toggle switch at the top) and visiting the Void Gauntlet page.

Tree of annihilation:

Void Blade:

Summon a Void energy blade that turns your basic attacks into melee. Tap Basic Attack to perform a quick slash that deals 100% weapon damage, or hold down to perform a stab attack that deals 150% weapon damage. Both attacks Disintegrate on successful hits, dealing 5% weapon damage per second and reducing damage absorption by 5% for 8s. Stacks up to 3 times. 15s duration. Costs 20 mana.

Petrifying Scream:

Unleashes a void scream, dealing 100% weapon damage, stunning and rooting enemies 5 yards in front of you. Turns off enemy movement for 2s. Costs 25 Mana.

Oblivion:

Summon a circular rift of Void energy beneath your feet, dealing 30% weapon damage per second to enemies and empowering you and your allies for 20% increased damage. 5m radius. Duration 6s. It costs 30 mana.

Ultimate - Void Summoner:

Gain a stack of Void Essence when you successfully hit a skill. At 6 Stacks, use up all Stacks and gain 3 M aura that heals yourself and allies for 30% weapon damage and deals 30% weapon damage per second to enemies inside. Healing only scales through focus. Duration 5s. 20s cooldown.

Decay Tree:

Decay Sphere:

Fires an unblockable ball that passes through enemies, deals 100% weapon damage and causes Disintegrate, dealing 5% weapon damage per second and reducing damage absorption by 5% for 8s. Stacks up to 3 times. At maximum range, transforms into a healing orb and returns, healing allies for 20% weapon damage per second for 5s. Healing scales solely on focus. Costs 20 mana.

Doomsome Tether:

Fires a projectile that binds you to an enemy, weakening them and buffing you by 4% per second (up to 20%). Tether ends when target exceeds 15m. Duration 10s. Costs 25 mana.

Crack in essence:

Fires a projectile that deals Essence Rupture for 10 seconds, healing anyone who hits the target for 20% of the damage dealt. Does not apply to damage over time. Costs 25 mana.

Ultimate - Abyssal Glance:

Gain a stack of Void Essence for each skill hit. At 4 or more stacks, your next successful ranged heavy attack will immediately reset all Void Gauntlet cooldowns and remove all stacks. 15s cooldown.

Void Gloves Review

The Void Gauntlet specializes in close-range buffs and damage over time or debuffs and mid-range healing. The Void Gauntlet works best in groups and doesn't seem to be particularly effective in duels or 1v1 situations.

Both ultimate abilities from each tree can be activated by hitting multiple enemies at once. For example, you can get 4 stacks of Void Essence for your Glimmer of Void ultimate by hitting a group of 4 enemies with a single skill. The same goes for Ultimate Caller. This makes Gauntlet especially useful in group set-ups and PvE situations.

The Void Gauntlet has slightly different mechanics than the rest of the weapons in the game. Heavy attack with Void Gauntlet deals 150% damage and heals for 20% of the damage dealt.

The block also works differently than the other weapons in the game. The block is called "Harvest Essence." When you block with the Void Gauntlet you turn your health into mana over time, and the rate at which you do this scales with weapon damage. There is also a passive skill in the Decay tree that reduces cooldowns by 10% per second when using Harvest Essence.

There are also a few abilities in the Void Gauntlet that grant you self-healing or heal allies. Note that while weapons scales primarily on Intelligence, any Void Gauntlet healing scales solely on focus.

Arkana Changes

Arcana has now been adapted to utilize previously useless material in New World, Hysop. To craft all potions in the game, you must now craft a potion alkahest. Alkahests range from Level 1 to Level V and all require a certain amount of hyssop and water.

Weak alkahest - 2 hyssop, 1 water

Alkahest ordinary - 4 hyssop, 1 water

Strong alkahest - 6 hyssop, 1 water

Powerful alkahest - 8 hyssop, 1 water

Brewed alkahest - 10 hyssop, 1 water, 1 water from Azoth

New Enemies - Raiders of the Varangians

A new enemy type has been introduced with the PST that doesn't seem to belong to the previous monster categories we've seen. They are human invaders who are level 16-20 and can currently be found in First Light, Monarch's Bluff, and Everfall. The new mobs have their own banner and this is the beginning of what we will see in the future.

Varangian Raiders Resistance to damage types. It seems the Varangian Raiders aren't weak against damage of any kind, but they are immune to Impact damage.

  • HIT - Resistant
  • ICE - Neutral
  • EMPTY - Neutral
  • SLASH - Neutral
  • Thrust - neutral
  • Fire - neutral
  • Lightning - Neutral
  • ARCANE - Neutral
  • NATURE - Neutral

CHANGES IN ORB TUNING AND STONE CUTTING

For the most part, the Stonecutting remains unchanged, although there are a few small changes that should make it easier to create tuning balls. The main changes to the regulations relate to the reduced demand for warped processing materials obtained for completing warped offenses.

  • Amrine Tuning Orb - no changes
  • Starstone Tuning Ball - Now requires 3 damaged fragments (up from 10)
  • Depth Tuning Orb - Now requires 2 Corrupted Shards (was 10)
  • Dynasty Tuning Orb - Now requires 2 corrupted crystals (up from 10)
  • Genesis Tuning Orb - Now requires 2 corrupted Lodestones (up from 10)
  • Lazarus Tuning Orb - Now requires 3 Corrupted Lodestones (up from 20)
  • Protector's, Monoecious and Siren tuning balls - no changes

The last notable change concerns the crafting requirements of Runestones and Obsidian Voidstone .. Runestones and Obsidian Voidstone have now opened the Uncommon Lodestone recruitment to enable any type of Lodestone Extraordinary resource. Previously, Runestone required a Rotten Lodestone, and Obsidian Voidstones required a Clay Lodestone

New PvP faction missions

The PvP faction missions have been reworked to add new mission types and remove poachers missions. You will no longer have to kill boars, tigers, etc during PvP missions. PvP missions now reset on death compared to being completely forfeited. New missions that have been added include taking control of the fort, killing members of the enemy faction, and retrieving loot from the war camp from specific locations.

Changes in commercial establishments

The trading points are actually linked on the PTR. You can stay in one settlement and buy goods in another settlement. The location where you list an item for sale is the area where trade taxes are levied on that item.

Other notable adjustments / additions

  • Ice Gauntlet deals much less damage. Ice Storm persists when swapping weapons
  • Sprint speed increased by 10% on roads
  • Added new enemy variants for the current mob types (Contaminated, Ancient, Bad Earth and beasts)
  • GEMS appear to be fixed and scale as intended
