New World 1.0.3 will be released on October 19 at 22:00 CEST (5:00 AM UTC). Below is a complete server transfer implementation plan.

Greetings, adventurers!

In this update, we laid the foundations for the server transfer feature. We've also included a number of bug fixes - thank you to everyone who helped us track down these issues through their reports on the official New World forums. Before we dive into the details of how the server transfer system works, our plan to roll it out in all regions, and our bug fix list, we wanted to thank everyone who supported New World in the first few weeks after launch.

To show our appreciation for your patience, we award all players the "Stoic" title in the game. This title is intended to thank everyone who, as stated in the title's description, has shown solid determination in the face of epic waiting times. The title will be automatically awarded to your character and can be equipped by going to the Character menu, selecting the "Bio" tab and selecting "Change" in the title section of the screen. It may take up to a day for the title "Stoik" to appear in the list of available titles.

We've also added the "Waiting" emote to the in-game store - for free - as an extra thank you. To claim an emote, go to the in-game store and select the "Emoticons" tab, where you will find the "Waiting" emote, which is available for free. Emotes are account tied, so all you need to do is claim them from your Steam account, even if you have two characters.

While we want everyone to find their long-term home at Aeternum as soon as possible, we also want to ensure that the process is safe and ready for everyone to use. We've been working hard on this feature and testing it over the past two weeks, but as this feature is brand new, we opted for a safe, step-by-step approach to introducing transfers for all players.

When all worlds are back online from downtime, our plan is to monitor the framework we created without immediately turning on transfers. Once we have confirmed that the structure will survive on a large scale, we will enable character server transfers first in the world of Utopia, in the AP Southeast region. We will be closely monitoring transfers in this world, and if anything unusual happens our team will have to intervene manually. If all goes well, we'll turn it on for the rest of the AP Southeast region and continue monitoring. If no issues are detected by our team after 8 hours, we will fully implement character server transfers to other regions.

We thank our players at AP Southeast for helping us make sure this feature is live worldwide, and everyone for your understanding and patience. Stay up to date with the latest updates on @playnewworld and our forums!

Check out the video and FAQs below to find out how the transfer process will work, limitations, and how this is affecting your character. Each player will receive one free character transfer token.

  • You have to log into your character, which means waiting in the appropriate queues.
  • A new tab will appear in the in-game store where you can claim a character transfer token.
  • You have to leave your business.
  • You must delete all active sell and buy orders at the Trading Post.
  • Your character must be in a sanctuary (such as a settlement or outpost).

  • You will keep all character progress (level, weapon proficiency, titles, etc.).
  • You will keep your inventory and warehouse.
  • You will keep all your currency.
  • You will keep your houses and apartment decorations.
  • You will keep all quest progress.

  • Membership in your company must be terminated prior to transfer and will not be transferred.
  • Orders to sell and buy in an active trading point must be deleted and will not be transferred.
  • Your friends list is world specific and will not be transferred.

  • You can transfer your character to any world in your region, except:
    • You cannot transfer your character to the full world.
    • You cannot transfer your character to the maintenance world.
    • You cannot transfer your character to a world where you already have an existing character.

  • Re-transferring will require an additional token. Our team will continue to monitor world populations, queue times, and assess the need to give away an additional wave of server transfer tokens for free. After making sure players have had enough time to find a suitable server, we will provide server transfer tokens for purchase in the store later. We will notify you in advance when the tokens change to a paid service.

  • Implemented end elements of the server transfer framework.
  • Improvements have been added to the World Select UI.
  • Clearer messages have been added when a player is kicked for inactivity or EAC violation.
  • Clearer announcements have been added when cumulative discounts are present, such as territorial status and faction discounts on property taxes.
  • We implemented backend changes to help our team investigate customer performance issues during the war.
  • The respawn timer for Petty Officer Ambrose and various other elite enemies around the world has been adjusted.
  • In the Depths, players must now be in the arena to damage Thorpe.
  • The error message now appears when players try to buy their own items at the Trading Post.
  • Reverted a change to Chests and Loot from Update 1.0.2 that caused too many Refiners to be dropped from Chests.
  • Adjusted the volume of the Amazon Games splash screen.
  • Armor is limited to 1 skill per piece.
  • General performance improvements have been added for visual artifacts and graphics settings.
  • Dyes are now removed from items when swapped with a warning message.
  • Countdown to Declaration of War ”now visually pauses to make it clear when an invasion is imminent but not yet planned. The territory remains in conflict after invasion, and war can be declared.

  • T4 and T5 Azoth Staff issues fixed - close high level portals!
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in the Abandoned Event notification to persist.
  • Fixed a problem with the case UI. The interface will now correctly indicate that Property Taxes are subject to the full house price and are not affected by the first home purchase discount.
  • Fixed early game spawn issues. The watchtower spawn point is replaced with a settlement upon discovery. Players no longer spawn incorrectly in the Watchtower after choosing to respawn in a settlement.
  • Fixed various localization issues in the game.
  • Fixed an issue where not all City Project items were consumed after completing a Mission.
  • Fixed login issues that prevented players from accessing their character.
  • Fixed an issue where Arena keys would not drop as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where the Rune Bear armor was not dyed properly during the Wars.
  • Fixed an issue with placing pets. Pets placed in an empty house now stay in the house after the player logs out, instead of being returned to the player's inventory.
  • Southeast AP servers now display the correct in-game timezone.
  • Fixed an issue with titles - player titles and achievements are now displayed as intended, and the achievements tab now correctly updates after obtaining a new achievement.
  • Fixed an issue where Company invitations were kept after declining / accepting.
  • Fixed a bug where Rajah would take forever to respawn - one big cat at a time!

The fixes listed below are pre-fixes and limitations. Our goal is to make these changes and see if the issues persist so we can keep working on them and address them in a future update if necessary.

  • Fixed an issue where wars and invasions started earlier than planned.
  • Fixed an issue where not all Settlement Stations would update as intended after completing City Projects.
  • Players should no longer get stuck when entering or exiting an instance. If a player reconnects and their character is dead, the respawn screen will open with the available respawn options. Players who are currently stuck must contact customer support for their character to unstick.

Thanks for your support! See you at Aeternum.
