Once inside, run to the first room of the Corrupt Retreat where you will find a column with many ancient artifacts. Remove the accessories from the room and run to the corridor south. To enter the door, all you need to do is complete the simple task of having a party member stand on each platform.
Make your way down the short corridor and activate the azoth staff pedestal, then head back to the corrupt retreat and clear the new mobs that just appeared. After removing three of the team with Mercury's staff, they will have to activate three orbs on the center column in the room. This will open the door to the west.
Right behind the door there is a mini boss named Renat. It has minimal mechanics and is easy to remove. Clear the rest of the accessories in the corridor and take the stairs on the left. They should automatically open the door for you and allow you to take a ride and take the forked stairs. Remove the accessories, open the ancient seal of Mercury and go through the door, the first respawn point will be in front of us.
At the top of the next stairs, there will be a broken mustache with a few accessories. Killing this will open the door that leads to a room called Nadil Bridge and reveal an epic scene with another mini boss, Boor. He is a corrupt brute with minimal mechanics. Go down it and head right (east) to the corridor called "transport." You will come across two more broken mustaches and a few addons. At the end of this corridor you will find a teleport that will take you to a separate area on the map called "core”.
After entering the core, go left and around the corner on the opposite side of the cube. There you will find another teleporter. Use this and it will take you to another extension of the Nadir Bridge area, called the Ring of Rot. There you will find a clock-like area on the ground with glyphs surrounding it. Your group will need to hold a pressure plate in the center of the glyph while a few waves of mobs will appear. Once the waves are over and the slab is activated, make your way through the corridors to open the gate and head back to the Nadir Bridge.
Go right, remove the attachments and break the seal of Ancient Mercury. This will restore the bridge to the center of the room. On the right side there is an optional room with a mini-boss. There you will find a corrupt heavy boss named Despar, surrounded by two corrupt tentacles and a few addons. Clear the room and leave Despar to open two rooms with chests. Then head back to the nadir bridge and head to where you can first enter the room where you will find the newly created bridge. Cross the bridge to find the respawn point and your first encounter with the boss, Archdeacon Azamela.
Archdeacon of Azamela (Cursed Hole)
After the fight starts, Azamela will summon two Hounds. Clear them and watch out for Azameli's attacks.
- Shockwave - makes it the epicenter of the shockwave effect.
- Broken cleave - A cleave that sends a broken ghost into a cone
- Staff Slam - AOE takedown around Azamel
- Summon Hounds - Azamela summons two more dogs
Phase 2 (Apocalypse)
Azamela will raise her staff in the air and connect the red beam to one of the monoliths on the higher shelves. At least one party member (two are recommended) will need to go to the teleporter under the beam to teleport to the Monolith. The tank should stay downstairs with Azamela to refuel the Apocalypse mines by holding down the block. Remove the addy and then disable the target of Mercury's Staff at the base of the Monolith. Once the target is closed, all teammates on the ledge will be teleported back to the boss to repeat Phase 1.
As in Phase 2, Azamela will raise her staff in the air, but this time the staff will connect to both of the obelisks in the room. Two teammates will have to go to each teleporter, while the tank will stay with Azamela and refuel the Apocalypse mines. Remove attachments and activate each target of Mercury's staff on the monolith to stop the apocalypse and be teleported back to the boss.
Note - If you are the first group back - watch out for the Mines in the middle.
From here you should have no problem finishing Azameli and collecting Thorpe's key to enter Thorpe's chamber!
When you make your way up the stairs to the north you will find a teleport that will take you back to the "Core". Remove the attachments and activate the Corrupted Shrine with Thorpe's Key. This will open up a room filled with large twisted armor. Destroy it to reveal the teleporter that leads to your ultimate goal, "Crucible of Corruption.”
While in the Crucible of Corruption, you will come across the warped bear mini-boss Archbald. Lower him, open the door in front of you. From here you will remove a few addons, another corrupted tentacle and the last corrupted Monolith. Destroying the Monolith will unlock a corridor to the final boss - Captain Thorpe.
Captain Thorpe will charge across the map with his fiery sword. A tank can face it towards the outer walls of the zone to reduce group damage. When he reaches 20% health, he will go to Phase 2.
When you bring down Captain Thorpe below 20% health, he will reset his health bar and respawn into two corrupted Behemoths to fight by his side. Remove the attachments and focus on avoiding Captain Thorpe's mechanic, which deals massive damage.
- Corrupted pull - Thorpe pulls the target towards him, dealing damage
- Charge - Captain Thorpe closes the gap with a charge that deals high damage and knocks the target down
- Corrupted Steel - Captain Thorpe kneels down and presses his sword to the ground, causing an area knockdown
- Soul Crushing Beam - A broken beam that deals HUGE amounts of damage. Captain Thorpe will move him counterclockwise around the area.
- Spawn Behemots - Captain Thorpe will summon two more Behemoths to fight by his side
- Heel Crush - AoE explosion that deals HUGE corruption damage if the player is inside.
Survive Phase 2 and Captain Thorpe's DPS to complete the Depths!
