First of all, not all MMO games have a class system. New World has no rigid classes and gives a lot of freedom.

For example, in World of Warcraft you first need to select a class, and that choice is very important. It determines all future gaming experiences. But in the New World, you don't have to choose a class. The progression system is different.

Weapons and armor
In the New World, you are making progress in what you use. For example, if you take a sword and start using it, you'll get Sword Mastery and unlock new skills for that weapon.

You can switch weapons later if you want. For example, you can take a bow at any time and unlock new skills for the bow.

All weapons and armor are available to the player at every stage of the game. If you want to start playing as a fire mage, just grab the Fire Staff and that's it.

Of course, the more time you play with a given weapon, the more active and passive skills you'll unlock for that weapon. Therefore, it's a good idea to pick 1 or 2 of your favorite weapons and focus on them to become a champion. But if you want, you can become a master with all weapons. It will take time, but it is possible.

Attribute points
When it comes to attribute points, the matter is a bit more complicated. Changing a sword and shield to a fire staff will not immediately turn a warrior into a mage. Yes, you will be able to attack enemies with fireballs, but your attribute points will not allow you to see all the power of the Fire Staff. This is because Warriors typically invest most of their attribute points in Strength, while Mages prefer Intelligence.

But fortunately, you can reset your attributes at any level. You don't even need to visit a special place. Just pay the fee and it's ready.

As you can see, you can always change your playstyle in the New World. You can switch from one role to another at any time.

Which configuration is the best?
Now you know there are no classes in the game, but the question remains the same. Is there the best combination of armor, weapons, and attributes to make you invincible?

Luckily, the game doesn't have the absolute best builds. Some combos may be a bit better in this or that situation, but there's no build that lets you dominate every time.

Not only because all meetings are different. This is because the combat in the game is based on real-time action. Your reaction and skills have a big influence on the result. You need to know when to block and when to avoid. If you know how to use your character, you can even beat a higher level player.

New World is not about having better items or perfect rotation. Items are also important, but they don't make you invincible.
