In the New World, players' houses are part of many settlements that can be found and conquered in the various territories of Aeternum. While the settlement itself can change hands between different factions and companies, players' homes are unaffected by war and perverted invasions.

Houses are semi-instances in the New World, so multiple players can buy and use the same house, but will only be able to enter and manage their own version. It is also possible to invite up to 4 other players to your home, inviting them to a group.

Buying a home
In order to be able to buy a house, players must first meet certain level requirements:

Level 15 - 1 house
Level 35 - Second house
Level 55 - Third house

You also need to reach a certain position in the territory. You can do this by completing missions, quests, and city projects, or by simply killing monsters.

There are different types of houses, with different sizes and functions. For example, some houses have gardens or balconies while others only have a porch. Of course, their location also plays a role, with some being more central and close to important urban facilities such as craft stations. This comes at a different cost, so if you want a bigger house in a good location you'd better be prepared to pay a premium.

The houses in the settlements have levels. Each tier of houses has a different cost and set of benefits, with the most expensive homes yielding the greatest benefits.

LEVEL 1 - 5000 coins

  • Home Fast Travel Cooldown: 4h
  • Maximum number of storage units: 1
  • Maximum number of animals: 5
  • Maximum number of lights: 4
  • Territorial position required for purchase: Level 10

LEVEL 2 - 10,000 coins

  • Cooldown for fast home travel: 3h
  • Maximum number of storage units: 2
  • Maximum number of animals: 6
  • Maximum number of lights: 6
  • Territorial position required for purchase: Level 15

LEVEL 3 - 15,000 coins

  • Waiting time for a quick trip at home: 2.5 hours
  • Maximum number of storage units: 3
  • Maximum number of animals: 7
  • Maximum number of lights: 8
  • Territorial position required for purchase: Level 20

LEVEL 4 - 20,000 coins

  • Cooldown for fast home travel: 2h
  • Maximum number of storage units: 4
  • Maximum number of animals: 8
  • Maximum number of lights: 10
  • Territorial position required for purchase: Level 20

You will also have to pay weekly property tax which may vary depending on the tax claims of the management company. If you don't pay for maintenance, you won't lose your home, but some features, such as renovating, returning home, or enhancing trophies, will stop working.

Decor
New World includes hundreds of different pieces of furniture. Most of them can be created by players and sold at the point of sale. This includes chairs, tables, beds and garden decorations. You'll also be able to find rare furniture and trophies while looting mobs and other rewards.

Some of these trophies can give you powerful buffs if displayed in your home. For example, they can improve your crafting skills or make you stronger against certain types of enemies. However, there is a maximum limit to the number of trophies that can be active at the same time, so players will have to make a choice.

Decor also serve other purposes: while your own home instance is private, other players can see your home as they pass by - but only if you have the best decorated home in that location. This is determined by a ranking system that gives your house a score based on its decoration and the position of your territory. You can even see a list of the highest ranked players for each house. Of course you will always be able to see your own home, but other players can only see it from the outside if you have the highest ranked home.

Back home
Players' houses in the New World serve as a summoning point so you can quickly travel to your home from anywhere in the world. Therefore, it is important to choose a good location for your homes as you can only own a certain number. Maybe you prefer to cover a lot of land and buy a house in every corner of the map? Or maybe you'd rather have one of your homes close to a high level area and another in the city with the busiest retail outlet? As mentioned above, the higher the house level, the shorter the cooldown on the travel timer.
